George Orwell best known for two novels the Animal Farm and Nineteen Eight Four both of which were published close to end of his life.
Animal farm, written during 1943 and 1944. While Orwell was working as a journalist and commentator for BBC Orwell. He express his extreme contempt for Stalinism and his disappointment with Marxism as political praxis (Animal Farm 2007). Giving him a great success of the time.
While in five years later after Animal Farm in 1949, Orwell published another masterwork.(Orwell biography p1, n,d) This vision of the world divided into three oppressive countries stirred up debate among reviewers, who found this not to distance fictional future too despairing. In the novel, Orwell gave readers a vision, of what would happen if the government controlled every aspect of a person's life, down to the person's thoughts.(Orwell biography p2, n,d) Nineteen Eighty Four proved to be another huge success for the author.
George Orwell had little time to enjoy the fortune and prestige, as he died on January 21, 1950, in a London hospital. He died in a young age of 46, but his ideas and legacy have lived on through his work. Both the Animal Farm and 1984 have been turned into films and received tremendous popularity over the passing years. (The History Guide, n,d)
